​Diamonds in the Sky will be starting a 20-week, 40-hour basic astronomy class in Gaborone, beginning in January 2025.  This class will be taught using software from the U.S.A. called "Starry Night High School", which is currently being used there by many school districts to teach high school level astronomy.  The software is designed to fit in with the NGSS (New Generation Science Standards) currently in use. 

Each student is given their own download code, to download a complete student version of the software, which contains all the lessons and assignments for the entire 20 week course.  Classes will be held every Saturday for all students who need assistance, either with the material contained in the lessons or on how to use the software more effectively.  The software is quite unique, and offers the students a treasure trove of information, videos, graphical representations, and real time views of the night sky.  Any date or any time can be entered into the program, and it will render views of the sky from anywhere.  This could be specific towns or locations on earth, or views of what the earth looks like from other planets.  Its limitations are really only the limits of your imagination.
