We Provide Equipment, software and Expertise, to Facilitate Education & Entertainment, and to Promote Astronomy However Possible
Diamonds in the Sky is the only BQA accredited training provider offering HRDC accredited short course astronomy classes designed for both students and teachers, and professional guides.
Teacher Education We offer basic astronomy classes for junior and senior secondary school teachers in preparation for teaching astronomy as part of the new BCGSE science syllabus. We can also arrange for accredited certificate bearing classes for teachers teaching astronomy as part of the ICGSE syllabus taught at most private schools in Botswana.
Camps & Lodges We offer training in practical observational Astronomy, telescope operation, and client hosting skills for professional guides working in the tourism industry, for camps or lodges looking to add new nighttime activities for their clients. We also offer training for young entrepreneurs looking to enter the nascent but growing astro-tourism market in remote areas away from parks and game reserves.
Corporate Functions We offer innovative and informative presentations for events where alternative forms of entertainment are desired. Both inside and outside presentations are possible with complementary astronomical content. This is a new service in Botswana, but has already found a loyal following internationally.
Saturday Classes for Students Our newest offering is a software-based astronomy class for junior and senior secondary school students, taught once-a-week in a classroom setting. Included for each student is their own download of the astronomy education software that we use from the U.S.A. It is used there as part of the NGSS (New Generation Science Syllabus). The first classes will begin in January, so don't wait to contact us for early registration.
